The reason of the blog!

Hi bloggers, today I'm going to talk you about the reason of this project. I'm on highschool and I'm doing a really interesting and different subject, it's called Digital Humanities (DH). Maybe some of you don't know which is it meaning so I'm briefly going to explain you:

DH appeared because of the improvments of technology in all the world and the great impact their had in the

human life. It tries to combine the humanitites whit the different tools that technology offers us.

Inspite, DH have a lot of different difinitions because it is a very new subject but if you want a longer explanation here I leave you a link.

This blog is considered a DH project and I've also searched for different ones, I would explain you a little bit about them.

1. Art Workshops in a website: it is a website where you can find a lot of workshops, expositions, and things related with are that are made in the capital city of Spain, Madrid. It is considered a DH project because it uses a website to spread art.

2. Photography's history: it is a timeline made with a tool of interent that shows all the history of photography, which is in the field of humanitites. This tool is amazing, you can organize all the knowledge you have year by year!

3. History, humor and YouTube: have you ever heard about YouTube? I'm sure you have! This person has created a channel where uploads history videos with a touch of humor! He/She uploads them chronologically so, you can finde there a lot of useful information.

Hi dancers! Again, as a school work I have had to do a words cloud with the fantastic tool Voyant Tools. The cloud is based on a text that talks about hip hop and sumarizes it history, where it comes from and some of it features.

Google Ngram Viewer

Hi!! As a part of my school work I have had to do a Google Ngram Viewer.

I have chosen this three words (ballet, hip hop and dance) because I wanted to know if there where a lot of books written about them in google or not. Like you can see in the graphic, there are much more books about ballet than about hiphop. And even more about dance because it is a more general word.

Matt Steffanina

Good afternoon my dancers today I'm going to talk you about maybe one of my favourite hiphop dancers in the world.

It's Matt Steffanina who has worked with such important people like Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and more. He had lived seven years in the east coast of north america, where he worked as a dancer, before he moved to Los Angeles in 2010. Nowday Matt works every week at International Dance Academy in Hollywood and he also travels around the world teaching his style in different academys where he does workshops (intesive lessons about dance). He created his own style combining the comercial hiphop with some grooves and isolations (traditional movments).

He is with a girl called Dana Alexa another dancer who I will write of in a future post.

About me and my project

Hi, I'm Anna! I'm a sixteen year old girl and I'm from Spain. I live in a town really near from Barcelona, I'm sure that you know something from Barcelona, do you know about our fantastic football team? Do you know about Sagrada Família? I'm sure you do and if not, you should search for it, Barcelona is a very interesting and amazing city!

I have some hobbies, for example, I love dancing and all types of dances, I dance nearly six hours per week! I also love singing and I have watched a lot of different types of series. I watch them one after the other, but when they finish, sometimes I feel a bit upset.

I'm gonna stop talking about me and I will focus on what we are here. I have started this blog for an school project and like I have said I absolutely love all the modern dance world and which better topic to talk about in my blog? I'm going to talk you about nowdays important dancers, about the history of the different ways of dancing, I will share with you some videos that I consider fascinating and much more.
